Getting Rid of the Stink

Life is full of stinky smells, especially as a parent. There are dirty diapers, diaper pails, garbage cans, old spilled milk, spit up, dirty athletic shoes, gym bags, the garbage disposal…the list goes on and on. Have you ever tried the air freshener sprays? You know the ones that just cover up the stink temporarily or they combine with the stink to make it even worse. Have you dreamed of something that would cleanse the odor and remove it permanently? I just so happen to know of an essential oil blend that is phenomenal  at removing the stink from your life…

Purification® essential oil blend works wonders on the bad odors and even the really bad ones that make you gag.

The best part is Purification® doesn’t just mask the smell, it actually cleans the air or whatever is causing the stench.This blend is made up of six oils to include Citronella, Lavandin, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree. These oils so smell delicious and fresh together and they remove the odor rather than masking it. I have two very specific instances where I was shocked by the deodorizing power of Purification®.

I was about to host my first essential oil class. After enjoying fish the night before, I decided to heat up leftovers for a quick meal as I prepared the house. Seriously, what was I thinking? We all know the stench of reheated fish. I think the smell actually gets stronger and more fishy with reheating. I realized this after heating it and immediately thought about Purification®. I began diffusing it in the kitchen and it took the smell right out of the air. When my friend arrived early, I asked her if she could smell anything stinky. She said no! The only odor she could smell was the Purification®. I was amazed that it took the stink out of the house so that when my guests arrived they would only be greeted by the refreshing scent of Purification®.

My next story is disgusting and I apologize for even telling it, however it’s a strong testimonial to the power of Purification®. There are many pine trees around our home and as a result there are lots of little critters to include the less desirable ones like rats. We had at least one rat but probably a few had made their home in our garage. After finding droppings and even seeing it flee into the rafters, we set out old-fashioned rat traps. I can’t stand the idea of killing an animal but I really can’t stand the idea that rats could possibly get into our house due to the covering connecting the garage to the house. These smart little rats managed to grab the goods off the trap a couple times before we finally found the trap flipped over without bait and a few drops of what appeared to be blood nearby. This is what you dread when setting rodent traps or poison, that they will get away with it then die somewhere you can’t reach them. We didn’t think too much more about it until the stench started. It was an oppressive odor that was becoming worse by the day. My husband started to move everything away from the back wall of the garage when he found it. Let’s just say it had been dead for a while and mother nature was taking care of it’s remains. Yuck! He tried conventional cleaners but couldn’t rid the area of the odor. I suggested using Thieves™ household cleaner to clean the area, then diffuse Purification® out there overnight. The next day we were truly amazed. The smell was totally gone! There was no remnant of the smell of death that had been there before. We’re so thankful for these oils.

I also want to share a few additional ways that I use Purification® beyond simply diffusing it. I’ve put drops of it down the garbage disposal when it seems especially stinky. You can drop it onto cotton balls then stick them in the vents of your home or in your car to help freshen it up or you can make a spray with Purification® essential oil and distilled water to spray sheets, stinky shoes, refresh laundry and anything else that stinks.

Beyond it’s ability to cleanse all kinds of stinky things, Purification® is also great topically for preventing and healing bug bites and stings. I had an unfortunate run in with what I think was a wasp on a playground. I was under the playground structure when all of a sudden I felt searing pain on my low back. I knew immediately something stung me. Mommy adrenaline coursed through my veins so fast I immediately grabbed my daughter and ran off the playground. I was so relieved she wasn’t stung. However I could feel the pain from the sting developing. I walked home as quickly as I could to find some relief. I looked in my essential oil reference guide and found Purification® was recommended for stings. I applied it right away and within 15 minutes the pain was gone and the swelling was going down. What had been a red, inflamed bump was returning to normal skin. I showed my husband later that evening the site of the sting and he could barely tell I was stung!

My one complaint about where we live is that there are so so many mosquitoes! When the humidity feels like it’s 120% and the mosquitoes are so thick I think they might carry me away, I’m again thankful for Purification® essential oil blend. My friends use it as natural bug repellent but for me it’s most effective in helping the bites. No matter what I apply to my skin, I always end up with loads of bites. That’s when I start applying Purification® directly on the mosquito bites. It seems to take the itchiness away and help them to heal quickly. This all makes it a little more bearable when trying to be outside in the midst of summer.

This is an oil that my family uses all the time and I’m sure you’re thinking “yeah right, you’ve said that about every oil” and you’re probably right. In order to restate the importance of Purification® essential oil to me, this would probably be one of the oils I would want with me on a desert island or anywhere that’s really stinky.
