Free to Be You

Free to Be You

It is effortless to live a life of regret. However, it takes courage to live a life of freedom. FREEDOM to worship, make mistakes without judgment, FREEDOM to start over, admit you were wrong, and love again. FREEDOM to be who you are!

The shame of failure, rejection, insecurity, or not meeting our expectations can cause us to be captive within the boundaries we have set for ourselves. I know after suffering a painful divorce due to betrayal, what it’s like to be confined within the walls of my heart.

There was a time I was…

…controlled and manipulated into being someone I was not. When we’re not free to be who we were created to be, it is confusing to the core. Galatians 5:1 says, “For freedom, Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery.”

It took years to accept that who I am is ok. Anyone can tell you “Who You Are Not,” but only God can say to you “Who You Are .”  1 John 4:4  says, “Greater is He that is in me, than he who is in the world.”

God created us with purpose. It was only when I got the courage to stand up and say, this is not who I am, and I refuse to live this way anymore, that I experienced freedom.

We’re all unique and different to be who God created us to be. It’s incredible to think no two fingerprints are alike. Psalms 139:14 reminds us, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

We’re all created uniquely. The unique qualities we each possess are the qualities God uses to reach various people. The vastness of His children explains the greatness of His mission.

When we understand our mission is within our gifting, we’ll be confident we can be different. We’ve all been given a unique assignment, and the core of who you are is in the gift of your assignment.

Where your gift is, you will find the freedom to fulfill your assignment. John 8:36  say,” So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

So go ahead and celebrate. You are free to be you!
