Food for the Soul

I’ve really felt off track lately. It took me a while to bounce back from the craziness of getting my house ready for sale and then bouncing around between my mom’s and my sister’s until the house actually sold. It was a challenge to stay on track with my eating (to say the least!). I decided to get back to basics now that I’m back in my house and the chillier weather is upon us.

I went to the grocery store and I got myself all the fixings for…

…my homemade chicken soup! YUM!

It has practically no carbs because all it is is chicken, spices, and I like to throw in some celery. When I’m snacky, I heat up a mug of broth. For lunch, I eat soup and maybe a few garlic stuffed olives. Y’all, the bloating has gone completely down and I feel more like myself again! Hallelujah! It’s been simpler than I thought to get back on track, I really just had to be intentional about it. I even bought some Keto approved chocolates from Costco just to have something around when I get a craving. They are 1 net gram of carbs per huge piece and they’re individually wrapped! Boo-yeah!

It really helps to have things around to curb those cravings and keep you on the straight and narrow. For me it’s chicken soup, for you it might be something completely different! Just figure out what it is that makes staying on track easy for you and make sure it’s around (and plenty of it!).
