“Holly on Hollywood”
by Holly McClure
“Ant-man” is about a career thief, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), who is summoned to work for Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to pull off an important heist that could save the world! He has no idea that his world is about to get a lot smaller! Armed with Dr. Pym’s super Ant-man suit, Scott learns how to shrink in scale, increase in strength and communicate with ants, to battle Pym’s nemesis and former protégé, Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll), before his invention destroys the world. Evangeline Lilly and a talented cast also star.
Ant-man is a founding member of the Avengers and part of the Marvel Universe. The PG-13 rating is for Sci-fi action violence but older kids to adults will enjoy the action adventure that is well-written, funny, visually engaging and a fun movie for anyone who’s a Marvel fan!
I went thinking this was going to be more of a kid’s movie but was quickly mesmerized by the amazing Paul Rudd (the perfect choice), a talented cast, the creative storyline and visually engaging special effects. I enjoyed every minute of this movie, including: the clever references to the Avengers (with an important Avenger appearance in one very cool scene), all of the shrinking scenes, an army of ant soldiers, toys becoming life-size, a traditional cameo by Stan Lee and the all-important sneak preview scene that comes after the credits, so don’t leave! Can’t say enough good things about Ant-man that audiences of all ages will enjoy!
