“Holly on Hollywood”
by Holly McClure
“90 Minutes in Heaven” is the true story of Don Piper who, in 1989, was struck head-on by a truck that crushed his car. First responders declared that Don was dead, as he lay under a tarp for 90 minutes. During that time, he briefly saw a glimpse of heaven before regaining consciousness. The long journey of Don’s incredible recovery is mostly told through the eyes of his wife Eva. Hayden Christensen and Kate Bosworth star.
The PG-13 rating is for intense accident and injury images. The story spends a lot of time focusing on Don’s recovery which required lengthy hospitalization, agonizing treatments and lots of love and patience from Eva, family and friends. The solemn tone and emotional scenes make up most of the movie with very little time actually spent in heaven, so this is not a kid-friendly film.
“90 Minutes in Heaven” is a miraculous story with a redemptive message of faith, hope and love, mature audiences will appreciate. It will touch hearts, change lives and do something no film has ever done before – Producer Rick Jackson is donating all of the proceeds to charity!
