End of Your Rope
by Diana Scothorn
Thank God, He’s able to make a way when no way exists. So many times, I just knew that I was in over my head, with no hope for resolution. It’s painful when you feel like you’ve done all you know to do, prayed for strength, yet still feel like you’re backed up against a wall!
Even as “children of God, we can be pushed to our limit.
The stronger we become in the Lord, the stronger the devil…
…comes against us. Each blow is caused to make our heads hang low.
I’ve learned there is no pit so bottomless that God can’t reach out His hand and pull me up! When the devil tells me there’s NO WAY, I remind him of the times he said that before, and God made a way.
When I feel helpless and at the “end of my rope,” that is not a bad place to be; it’s then that God alone is my source! When I am at my lowest, God is ABOVE ME! When my head is hung down, God is there to lift me up!
Psalms 3:3 says, But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. Psalms 24:7 tells us to lift our head; God Almighty is ready to enter and ready for battle. Although we may be weak and depleted of strength to fight, God is ready and equipped to fight for us!
God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. Meaning in our weakest moments, when we feel the most unworthy, He enters in the middle of our dilemma and, in His strength and majesty, makes everything alright!
No matter how complicated our circumstances may appear, God is for us! He will Redeem our life, He will deliver our mate, He will provide for our family, He will restore our health, He will carry our burden, He will give us strength, He will mend broken relationships, and He will never leave or forsake us!
Psalm 91:14-16 says it this way; God will save you, protect you, answer you, be with you, rescue you. We’re protected, redeemed, and loved! If we love God, we can rest assured that the other end of our rope is the strength we need to win our battle! So when you feel you’ve reached the end of our rope, hang on, knowing your Helper is on the way!
