In my prayer time the other day I was asking the Lord to bless me with what I needed to finish all 60 days of a new workout program I started. The word determination came to mind and so I prayed for that. This morning during my prayer time I was again asking the Lord to bless me with what I needed to stay on plan 100% and eat well while nourishing my body.
Again the word determination came to mind and so I decided to do a little more research…
One of the definitions of the word “determination” is “the quality of being resolute; firmness of purpose.” It’s the act of coming to a decision or of settling a purpose. Yes, that’s exactly what I was wanting! You see we can have all of the information in the world about the Trim Healthy Plan but without determination to stick to it and keep going during the tough times we won’t last through them. We won’t make it through the times when we want to throw those Wasa crackers against the wall and reach for a bag of chips instead. (Not that I’ve ever experienced that of course…)
Determination is what we need when you are starting something new (like a workout program, running schedule, eating plan, etc) and we want to stick it out but our past is yelling at us that we’ve never stuck anything out before. Our past is trying to remind us that we normally quit what we start and our track record of finishing is dismal at best. The beauty of life is that our past does NOT determine our future. So what if we didn’t finish a workout program before? Who cares if we’ve fallen off the THM bandwagon more than once? That is in the past so let’s leave it there, shall we? Determination is what we need and I pray that every single person reading this is blessed with a double portion of it to accomplish whatever it is we’re working to accomplish.
