Candle Wax Laundry Tip 101…

A friend called and asked me how to get wax out of her favorite shirt. I’m no specialist, but I’ve learned a thing or two from my amazing mother.

candle, candles, candle wax, wax removal, iron, mom, get oil out of shirt, take out clothing, laundry stains

So if you like to play in the candle wax, dipping each of your fingers in, so that you can tickle your kids’ arms with the soft, hardened wax, and you accidentally get it on your favorite shirt… this is how to get it out:

First: Freeze it. When the wax hardens, it should pop right off the fabric.

However, if the wax imbeds into the weaves of the fabric and freezing it DOES NOT WORK, try this next suggestion:

Turn the shirt upside down with a paper towel under the fabric. Iron over the spot where the wax has hardened. The hot iron should melt the wax into the paper towel and your shirt should become WAX FREE.

But the best way to get wax out of your shirt is….DON’T PLAY IN THE WAX!!

Leave the candle ALONE!!

Remember what your mom taught you:

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Hope this was helpful!!

Have a blessed day!
