By Faith Moms…

This past weekend was rough. Really rough. My two little ones were sick and for some reason the bickering would.not.end. My Little Red House was more like a Little Red Mess. The more I tried to clean, the faster their little legs ran behind me and messed it up again.

Crying, fighting, whining, messing.

Not to mention the endless laundry pile which needed to be dusted again!!!

I finally gave up and plopped on the couch to play candy crush!

I usually am ok with it all but yesterday…

I was done. 16+ years and 7 kids later plus homeschooling… and I was officially D.O.N.E! I did my time.

Despite what the little old Ladies tell me at the grocery store… I will not wish for this mess when it’s gone.

Sorry folks but that’s the truth. The thought of a house that actually stays clean after you clean it just makes me break out in such a laugh…

I get giddy just thinking about it…

THAT’S the kind of day I had…

Sound familiar?

Anyone??

Yesterday was the kind of stuff they left out of the baby books. It should have been right after the chapter of Bringing home baby… What comes AFTER those first few years…

But those books also leave out an even MORE IMPORTANT too…

It should have been called ” By Faith…”

Because it is only “By Faith” that we can victoriously conquer this path called Motherhood. Hebrews 11 is one of my favorite chapters in the bible. It’s often referred to as the Hall Of Fame chapter… a very brief synopsis of some of the most faithful people in history… Most enduring crazy trials, most sinful and selfish and needing forgiveness time and time again… But through their failures they continued to live and GO “By Faith…”

I like to think that some names were left out of the original translation….

Your name… and mine.

I think the word MOM needs to be squeezed right in between verses 7 and 8. Right there after Noah and before Abraham…

By FAITH MOMS continue the good fight… Often not knowing where we are going…

By FAITH moms might not receive the things promised, they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance…

On those days that we just can’t change one more diaper…break up one more fight, grade one more paper…

We then have to gather up our sanity and continue By Faith

Because our jobs as mothers are more important than any corporate job out there.

What we do daily… in our house.. where no one sees is where the very essence kingdom advancement starts.

Among the spilled juice and runny noses is where we make warriors for Christ.

It’s in the HOME.

I have been blessed with seven children ages 16-1…. and I am starting to see the fruits of my hard labor. As I talk to my teenage daughters and see the awesome people they are becoming…

I am seeing the hard work and the tears all come to fruition…

God has been showing me that the things that I have done…

every.small.thing. has NOT been in vain. I poured my heart into my children and that has now blossomed into young adults that are amazing…

And all along that path, during my hopeless tears and my questionable ways I simply went “By Faith…”

Moms, hang in there… We all have those days. Weeks, months…seasons… God never promised an easy path… But he did promise to hold us through it. Lean on HIM and continue walking “By Faith…” God’s promises never return empty. I am thankful to be able to see that now… as my children get older.

It is only By Faith that we can get through. And I KNOW you can do it… He will equip you and he will re-fill you just when you need it.

Hang in there my friends and continue to walk BY FAITH!

Feel free to follow me on Instagram where I give you a peek behind the curtain of my Little Red House!
