Book Review:Power Sheets

by Debi Chapman

I found Lara Casey on Instagram and followed her into the wonderful world of design and creativity with family life at the heart.

Each year when I reevaluate the months behind and look to opportunities in front of me, I try to be more effective in the next season and search for better tools, something new and fresh.

With online calendar and planners I’ve slowly lost my desire to enjoy the process of planning and dreaming. It just wasn’t fun anymore. So I joined the trend and migrated back to paper. This is where PowerSheets provided an…

…anchor in the midst of another busy year, 2016, and has made all the difference for me.

I’ve fallen in love with Lara Casey’s unique system and here’s why:

Life is holistic. As mothers, we’re also women and individuals. We come to this place in life with a history and a future. How do we step into the opportunities that are in our hearts while juggling the heavy baggage of fears and life patterns we’ve developed through the years? It’s easy to shrink back, not look ahead, and busy ourselves with life’s demands.

However, there’s a power that rests within us – the creative power of God. To tap into this power is to face our fears and the future with courage and resolve. We all intend to do this year after year, and some press through, but many face the next season with regret and more baggage accumulated in the business of life.

How does a mom break free while in the midst of daily life in possibly the busiest season she’s ever known?

I found PowerSheets to be a year-long personal woman’s retreat. Tailor made for me, my issues and my dreams.

Lara Casey’s system is carefully designed in look and content. Seasons/months/weeks and days all bound in a keepsake format!

Ephesians 1:18-19 Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe.

Debi is convinced our homes are the battlefields for society. She counts it a privilege to encourage mothers to stay the course and embrace the daily – for the sake of Christ.

As a college student, Debi asked the Lord to send her to the front lines of ministry. Armed with a newfound devotion to Christ and a Child Development background, Debi married her college sweetheart. Together they began to dream of what a family could become.

Thirty-six years later, Tim and Debi have eleven children, six grandchildren, and lives filled with front-line battle scars and victories beyond measure.

Presently, Debi has a houseful of teenagers in DFW and three sons in college. Her desire is to leave footprints for those who follow, and impart grace to mothers of all ages. Debi blogs at www.debichapman.com, can be found on social media, and speaks when invited – but her favorite place on earth, is home.
