Did you know that essential oils can help you lose weight? Yep! Here’s the scoop: Using essential oils can assist your body in losing weight, while you practice common sense habits such as eating right, exercising, and drinking plenty of water. When you add essential oils your body is given a little extra boost to accomplish your weight loss goals.
Here are 5 oils that work great with helping the body shed fat and control those sugar cravings…
Peppermint Oil– Peppermint is a favorite for many because of its digestion benefits! But did you know that it can also help you lose weight? Peppermint tells the hypothalamus that your stomach is satisfied. Crazy? It’s true! I know of someone who sniffed her bottle of peppermint oil each time she felt like snacking and actually lost 40 pounds over time! This is the only thing she changed. I imagine it allowed her to feel satisfied with less food, therefore, leading to gradual painless weight loss. If you have a few pounds to lose, it’s an easy first step.
Grapefruit Oil – This oil works with your body in activating enzymes in order to break down brown body fat. Gross, I know! Grapefruit oil comes from the grapefruit peel, which is very high in d-limonene. D-limonene helps support the metabolism and even cleansing and drainage of your lymphatic glands. This is such a powerful oil when it comes to weight loss because of how it activates the enzymes in your saliva which help break down that stubborn body fat in your body.
Cinnamon Bark Oil – Cinnamon is great for regulating blood glucose. This oil will help keep those sugar cravings at bay and balance your blood sugar levels. I’m sure whatever diet you are on doesn’t include sugar, but you will crave it! Trust me! Who doesn’t? This is why adding this oil to your daily program will help you fight those cravings.
Ginger Essential Oil – Ginger also helps with reducing sugar cravings, but also helps reduce inflammation in the body. In addition, ginger supports digestion and absorption of nutrients. Gingerols which is found in ginger have been scientifically proven to reduce inflammation in your intestines and overall absorption of the vitamins and minerals you’re consuming. If you can absorb more vitamins and minerals, that support your body’s cellular energy, then you’re helping your body rid itself of that extra fat.
Ocotea Oil – This is another amazing essential oil that helps control hunger. If you’re cutting calories back, then this oil can help you with those hunger cravings. This oil is known for purifying and digestive support. This is one of the main ingredients in Young Living’s Slique line.
So I bet you’re asking, “How do I use these oils?”
You can put one single drop in some water and drink it. I like to put mine in sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon.
Or, you can put 2 drops of each in a capsule and swallow first thing in the morning before breakfast and before dinner.
You can also put these oils on topically, but I recommend adding a carrier oil like coconut oil.
And finally, you can diffuse these oils. When they are combined they make a great scent that is pleasant to smell and will help the body use the oils effectively.
Remember, these oils are not “magic” and you can’t eat junk food, take these oils and expect to lose weight. But when you give your body the things it needs to detoxify and flush, then your body will start letting go of that stubborn, brown fat you’re carrying around.
