Are You Overcomplicating Your Life?

By Meggan Larson

It’s a simple question really. I remember the days when I first started out on THM and my weight loss journey. I was eager and excited, nervous but hopeful, you know the drill. I tried out a LOT of different recipes and would spend hours and hours in the kitchen. I still can’t put too much vanilla extract in anything after a terrible miscalculation caused a nauseating amount of it. I ate way too much dairy back then and was convinced that I would starve to death if I didn’t eat every three hours.

What I’ve learned lately is…

How to really listen to my body.

First of all, I don’t slave in the kitchen. Ain’t nobody got time for that ya know? I don’t even eat dairy for the most part anymore. It’s been weeks since I had any at all. And I pretty much eat the same thing every day and that works for me. I have bulletproof coffee in the morning and two salads per day. Now, these salads are LOADED with yummy fats and good protein so they sustain me easily between meals. I was sad to see that I’ll have to retire my favorite pair of jeans since they keep falling off my bum. What a terrible problem to have right?

I guess I just needed to get in touch with myself and try something new to me. I’m the queen of making super fancy meal plans that call for a different meal and snack every day of the week but honestly, that was exhausting to me. I would much rather get a bunch of veggies, some protein, and lots of olive oil and go to town all week. It’s freed up a lot of my time and given me back a lot of my sanity.

If you’ve been overcomplicating your life with too many different meals and snacks each week, maybe try something else? It’s been a real game changer for me.
