All-Natural DIY Scrubbing Bubbles
By Terri Bonin
I’m super sensitive to toxic smells and harsh cleaners, how much more my children must be! If aromatherapy, breathing in therapeutic essential oils can support our health, then doesn’t that mean breathing in toxic fragrance and harsh cleaners will compromise our health? The question answers itself.
I’m in love with this combination of safe ingredients that leave my toilet sparkling and a side bonus is that…
…it smells AMAZING and gets the job done thoroughly!
This fizzing powder is a natural toilet cleaner that will leave your toilet sparkling without a lot of scrubbing. Baking soda is a mild abrasive. When baking soda and citric acid are combined with water they fizz. Kids love it! The release of carbon dioxide causes bubbles, which might possibly enhance the scrubbing effect. Also, baking soda neutralizes acids in odor molecules to eliminate strong smells, meaning it helps with the stink. Add lemongrass and purification and you have a fresh, clean fragrance that might just cause you to look forward to cleaning the toilets!
It’s safe and effective. I don’t have to worry about my kids breathing toxic aromas from harsh cleaners or burning themselves if it gets on their skin! Moms, you are going to love this toilet cleaner!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups baking soda
1 cup salt ( it keeps the powder from sticking together)
10 drops lemongrass essential oil
10 drops peppermint essential oil
Directions:
Simply combine all ingredients and store in a quart-sized container. Add powder to the toilet, allow to fizz, and soak. Finally, gently scrub with a toilet brush to remove stubborn stains and flush.
