Advice From A Seasoned Wagon Jumper

Advice From A Seasoned Wagon Jumper

Have you gotten off and on the Trim Healthy Mama bandwagon so many times that you think maybe this plan just isn’t for you? Are you wondering if all of the effort, meal prep, and frustration is worth it? Tired, frustrated, depressed? I totally understand where you’re coming from! Believe me, I’ve been there more times than I care to share publicly. I get all gung ho about being on plan and then when the time comes I cave after a day or two telling myself it’s too much effort. Do you know what though?

Advice From A Seasoned Wagon Jumper

It takes a lot more effort to be fat. It takes a lot more time, energy, focus, frustration, and mental health to be overweight. It sucks your energy, your joy, your enthusiasm… it literally robs you of experiences because you’d rather stay at home.

I don’t know about you, but I tend to make the THM plan much worse in my head. It’s like I think I’m going to have to make extravagant courses for every meal I eat. I forget how simple it really is. Two fried eggs for breakfast ~ done. A piece of sprouted toast with a tsp. of peanut butter, sugar free jam, and a side of greek yogurt sweetened with gentle sweet ~ done. It’s really not as hard as we make it out to be. The other night I baked some peach halves with cinnamon and sweetener and it was good! (I personally don’t think fruit qualifies as dessert but it was yummy…haha). When I’m so hungry I’m about to eat everything in sight, I remember the protein powder I bought last year and never used and I make a smoothie. Easy peasy! I find the longer you’ve been on/off plan, the easier it is to fall back into a good healthy rhythm. I can still choose to make a cheesecake if I really want to or bake some zucchini chocolate muffins when I’m in the mood but it’s not a necessity. It actually is really easy to be on plan and the amazing feelings that accompany steady weight loss really are worth the effort.

If you’ve fallen/jumped off the bandwagon but are ready to get back on, go for it! It’s time to do what you set out to do at the beginning of the year. There are still 4 full months left and if you only lost 1lb per week that’s still 16lbs less than you weigh right now. I bet it feels good just thinking about it.
