3 Steps To Getting Out of Deep “Doo Doo”

Did you know that your success as a mom depends just as much on what you DON’T do, as what you DO do? And, yes, I said “doo doo!” If you feel like you’re in deep “doo doo” right now, then follow these three steps to get out and STAY OUT!
1. Prioritize. This is vital! Just take a quick look at all the activities you do during the day. Give them a quick ‘once over” and ask yourself, “how many of these activities are helping me reach my goals and improve my life?” If playing “Candy Crush” for 20 minutes or leading up that church committee isn’t making the cut, then CUT IT OUT! You can’t do everything, Mama. And, guess what, you were never meant to! You’ll be forever stuck in “doo doo” until you learn how to prioritize.
2. Delegate. Just because you’re a mom, doesn’t mean you have to do everything! You’re probably surrounded by willing and able volunteers (okay, maybe just the “able” part!). Even if your kids are less than willing, it’s time to recruit the troops and delegate some of the responsibilities. Save the “grunt work” for when you’re out on the dance floor and share the housework with the rest of the family (or anyone else who happens to stumble through your front door).
3. Eliminate. Look over your tasks real quick. If there is something you feel “meh” about, then get rid of it. Yeah, that’s right. I said it. GET RID OF IT! Do you really have to do everything? I mean really? No, you don’t. I bet you can go to bed and sleep just fine if all the socks are not matched or the kitchen floor is not mopped (just learn to spot mop with your foot, and embrace the art of unmatched socks!).
I get it, Mama. It ain’t easy. But keep in mind that you may need to cut some of the clutter (I’m talking TIME clutter here) in order to streamline your day and reach your goals. You can do this! I’m right there behind you–pushing you out of the deep “doo doo” and into the life you were born to live!
